Evolution, Forms and Variants
Aniimo runs on three evolution stages, and then layers three separate kinds of variant on top of them. Sorting those apart is most of the confusion.
The three stages
Lumin → Gamma → Nova
That is the documented progression, and it is the naming the official material uses throughout. Advancing is gated by some combination of level, materials and a boss kill — the mix differs per line.
Lines branch
Not every line is a straight path. Some branch, meaning the same family has more than one possible final stage reached by different routes rather than by levelling.
The clearest documented example is the Fire line: it has a straightforward three-stage path, and a separate final-stage form reached by a different route entirely. On this wiki that is visible on the creature entries where the stages are transcribed.
Three different things called “forms”
This is the part that generates most of the misinformation, because three unrelated systems all get called “forms”:
1. Regional and environmental forms
Some species have variants tied to where they live. The developer’s own material names several — a coastal or mudflat variant of one earth creature, a rain variant of a wind creature, a highland and a woodland variant of another. These are location-linked, and they are visible as separate entries on the official wiki.
2. Prismana forms
Prismana is a rare alternate form tied to weather and ecosystem. It is not random: a Prismana form is drawn to a particular ecosystem under the Prismana Flow sky, which is what makes tracking the schedule worthwhile.
There is also a guaranteed route to one: reaching the Junior Wayfarer rank lets you choose a Prismana-form Aniimo for free. That is a rank, not a purchase and not a roll.
3. Umbral
Umbral is the guaranteed-quality variant: it appears at roughly a 1 in 3,000 rate and guarantees Perfect Potential on the creature that has it.
There is a trap attached, and it is worth stating plainly: the Umbral look is lost the moment you evolve the creature or change its form. If the appearance is the reason you wanted it, do not evolve it.
And Sparkling
Sparkling is a separate rare variant hunted in the field. Community documentation describes it consistently; official material is thinner on it. Treat it as community-reported unless you have seen it in your own game.
What we are not publishing
- Exact rates for Prismana and Sparkling. Only the Umbral rate is documented. Fan sites print other numbers; we have no source for them.
- Evolution conditions per line, beyond the general gating. These differ per family and are being transcribed entry by entry.
- A full branching map. It is a real feature; a complete map requires the official wiki’s per-creature evolution data, which is a transcription job still in progress.
The sources page lists these among the claims this wiki refuses to make.
