Straight answers to what new Pathfinders actually ask — the money model, the platforms, the starters, and what is still unknown.

Short answers, each traceable to a source. Where the community has a confident answer that the developer has never given, this page says so instead of picking a side.

The basics

  • What is Aniimo? A free-to-play open-world creature-collecting action RPG from Pawprint Studio, set on the continent of Idyll.
  • Is it a Pokémon clone? It shares the collecting premise, not the combat. Aniimo is real-time action combat with dodging and combos, not turn-based.
  • Is it a gacha game? No. There are no creature banners — you find Aniimo in the world and catch them with Aniipods. The shop sells cosmetics.
  • What is Twining? The signature mechanic. You merge with a caught Aniimo and take its form, which changes how you move, fight and solve puzzles.
  • How many Aniimo are there? The developer advertises more than 200. The official wiki numbers its index by creature and the fan databases count differently, so this wiki publishes the roster it can actually enumerate rather than a headline figure.
  • How big is the field squad? Four Aniimo. The team locks once a fight starts.

Money and access

  • Is it free? Yes, on every platform. There is no paid tier.
  • What does the shop sell? Skins, outfits and optional convenience items. Companion Handbook editions and pre-order packs are cosmetic-led.
  • Do I need to pay to be competitive? No. Every progression material is farmable, and creatures are caught rather than bought.
  • Is it on Game Pass? Yes — day one, across Cloud, Console and PC.
  • Which server am I on? Whichever region you pick. Progress does not move between servers.

Starters and early decisions

  • Who are the two starters? Lunara and Helion — two special Aniimo outside the numbered index.
  • Which should I pick? Read the dedicated comparison. The short version is that the two are stat-identical and differ in their skills and combat forms.
  • Should I catch everything? Yes. A weak Aniimo still fills the Aniilog, can hold a Homeland job, and its Twine form may be the only mobility you have for a particular obstacle.
  • Should I save my good Aniipods? Yes — but not the basic ones. Basic Aniipods restock; Ultras, Sparkling Cubes and crafted Legendary Anipods do not, and a failed throw returns the pod anyway.

Still unknown

  • The exact published rates for Prismana and Sparkling forms. Only the Umbral rate is documented.
  • Whether weekly 'Omega' bosses exist. Alpha encounters are confirmed; Omega is not.
  • The canonical total number of regions in Idyll.
  • A Mac release window.

Why we do not answer some questions

Several numbers circulate confidently across fan sites with no source behind them: a region count, a creature total, a currency the game does not appear to have. Those are exactly the claims that make a guide look complete and behave wrongly, so they are listed as withheld on the sources page rather than guessed here.
