Your First Hours in Idyll
Aniimo front-loads its teaching and then stops explaining. Here is the order the opening actually moves in, and the things that are easy to walk past.
Do these four things first
- Empty your mailbox. Pre-registration rewards are waiting in-game — nobody has to redeem a code for them. More than 30 million pre-registrations were reached, so every milestone reward is unlocked for everyone.
- Finish the prologue without wandering. It unlocks three systems: catching, Twining and the Homeland. Until those are open, exploring buys you very little.
- Catch everything that moves. A weak Aniimo is still useful three ways: it fills the index, it can hold a Homeland job, and its Twine form may be the only mobility you have for a specific obstacle. Do not treat the roster as a list of combat units.
- Do not hoard basic Aniipods. They restock. Saving them while a creature runs away is the waste, not the throw.
The loop you will repeat a thousand times
Catching is two decisions, not one:
- Break the creature. Attack until its yellow Break meter empties. A broken creature is far easier to catch and far less likely to run.
- Throw the right pod. Pod tiers stack with your approach. Basic pods on common creatures; Ultras, Sparkling Cubes and crafted Legendary Anipods on things you cannot walk back to.
Two details that are easy to miss:
- Failed catches return the pod to your inventory. An upgraded pod costs you a throw, not the item — which is why using them is less reckless than it feels.
- Approach and status stack with the pod. Coming in from cover, unnoticed, or catching a creature while it is asleep all improve your odds alongside the Break state.
Build a team that can actually function
Your field squad is four, and it locks when a fight starts. The composition that works is boring and reliable: at least one Break, at least one source of sustain, and more than one element.
- No Break means enemy meters take forever and every damage window is shorter than it should be.
- No sustain means long fights end badly, regardless of your damage.
- One element means the first thing that resists it stalls the whole team.
The team planner will check those three things for you before you commit.
Start the Homeland on day one
The Homeland produces continuously, including while you are offline. That makes it the single system with the best return on setting it up early — and the worst return on forgetting.
Assign every caught Aniimo to a job as soon as you can, even temporarily. Job efficiency differs between creatures, so two creatures in the same role are not worth the same.
One thing to watch: production caps out. Come back and collect, or you are losing the benefit you set up.
What the game will not tell you
Several widely-shared “beginner facts” are not in any official material — a region count, a total creature count, and a progression system that does not appear under that name anywhere official. Our sources page lists them explicitly rather than quietly repeating them.
