Egg Heist: What It Is
Egg Heist is Aniimo’s structured multiplayer mode, and it is the one with official detail behind it. It is a PvPvE mode: other players are a threat, and so is the world.
The shape of it
From the developer’s own description:
- Teams of three.
- Set in the Lost Isles.
- Real-time searching and combat, with teams competing over objectives while the environment pushes back.
- Built around risk and reward — you are racing other teams for something valuable.
The mode is described as a reason for endgame groups to queue together, which tells you where it sits in the progression: it is not the tutorial.
Why “PvPvE” is the right label
The distinction matters for how you prepare. In a pure PvP mode you optimise against players. In a pure PvE mode you optimise against the encounter. Here you are doing both in the same run, which means:
- A build that only beats players will get chewed up by the environment.
- A build that only beats the environment will get outplayed by a team that brought both.
That is the actual skill expression of the mode, and it is why the four-slot composition matters more here than anywhere else in the game.
What has changed
The mode was updated in the January 29, 2026 patch, per community documentation of the closed beta. It has also been touched again since. Two consequences for anyone reading older coverage:
- Beta-era descriptions may be stale. The mode has had changes applied since the version most guides were written against.
- Numbers from the beta are beta numbers. Balance in a PvPvE mode is precisely what gets tuned.
What we are not printing
Map strategy, extraction routes, rare-egg locations and objective timings. These are the bread and butter of a PvPvE guide, and they are also the content that is worthless if it is wrong — one outdated extraction point is worse than no extraction point, because you will plan around it.
Community coverage of these exists and may be accurate for the current build. We cannot date it against a source, so we do not publish it. It is listed on the sources page among the withheld claims.
How to approach it usefully
- Treat your first runs as reconnaissance, not attempts to win. The mode rewards knowing the ground, and the ground is what guides cannot give you.
- Run it with people you can talk to. It is a three-person team mode; the tooling assumes co-ordination.
- Bring a real composition. Break plus damage plus sustain, with more than one element.
- Watch for change. This is the mode most likely to be patched, so re-read your own notes after a substantial update rather than trusting a guide written before it.
